Know Your Pre-migraine Symptoms

August 18, 2010. Pre-migraine symptoms are symptoms that occur some time before actual migraine starts. That time can be anything from 30 minutes to few days. These are also known as prodrome symptoms. These symptoms can help us to prevent migraine, because time is crucial when dealing with migraines.

Since I have migraines for about 10 years now, and I'm only 25, I didn't always pay much attention to prodrome symptoms. To be honest, I didn't believe that I have any. But when I started to examine my migraines and search for similarities, I realized that pre-migraine symptoms exist in my case too.

On the day when migraine occurs, before actual headache, I usually feel tired when I wake up in the morning. Sometimes I immediately feel some tension in my right shoulder or/and neck, and sometimes it happens later. When I discover symptoms, I usually wait some time and just pay attention, to see if they are getting worse and just to be sure that migraine is on it's way. If the answer to that question is yes, I immediately take my medication, because prevention is the best weapon against migraine!

It wasn't easy for me to find my prodrome symptoms, but for you it doesn't have to be that way, because now, you can use my 100% free online headache diary called "My Migraine Diary" to keep track of your migraines!
